More Annoying Than Barney
I know this is really mean-spirited, and honestly, I hate myself for feeling this way. But this woman grates on my nerves in the worst way. For those of you who are lucky enough to not know who she is, this is Miss Lori from PBS Kids. To be fair, I don't blame her - I blame her director, who must tell her to end every single sentence with a fake giggle. And to open her eyes really, SUPER DOOPER WIDE! I wish she could just speak to the kids and pretend animals like a normal human being instead of pouring a bottle of syrup on every thing she says. I know she doesn't talk like that in real life. She has three kids of her own, for heaven's sake.
I did a lot of kid's theater, and kid's won't let you get away with that crap. They'll squirm and yell insults like they've been training with Don Rickles. So here's a suggestion for PBS kids: Get a live audience in there for this poor woman, so she can stop talking down to your viewers.

Okay, I actually laughed out loud here. I, am not afraid to admit, I HATE MISS LORI. My kids only watch PBS kids and TLC - so I see more of her then I care to admit. I'm sorry. I know it makes me evil, but I hate her. I cringe when she talks.
Dayna, thank you! I feel so guilty, especially after being busted by my son, who is much nicer than I am. She makes me want to stick a fork in my ear. Thanks for the backup!
Now they stick her at the end of the shows - and she's still feels as if she's talking down to anyone watching the show. I can't stand her - and my wife and I both jump at the Tivo skip button to try and not hear a single word. What's confirmation is how my daughter never says - leave it - could be from us jumping - but she's never liked Miss Lori or hooper.
PBS - please remove Miss Lori from the shows and put us all out of our misery - hey maybe Miss Lori is miserable and tied to some contract - if so - Miss Lori - break it.
