Someone please tell me I'm not the only one who, whilst watching this love-it-love-it-LOVE-IT clip, thinks, "Well, hey! Would you look at that? John Mayer: The Early Years."

And because perhaps not all may share my longstanding infatuation, allow me to state for the record that I am a BIG HUGE OBNOXIOUS fan of Mr. Mayer. A quick review for the uninformed:

Gifted musician who consistently pays reverent homage to his musical influences and heroes, makes it big but keeps it real, holds a firm grasp on a wit so razor-sharp that it could be used to cut glass, politically invested and active, and registers very high indeed on the cute-o-meter.

Is this not J-H to a tee? I say YES. (And I have faith that early intervention will prevent J-H from making the rather unfortunate girlfriend choices that have befallen J.M.)

Will stop babbling now.

Didn't even finish watching before coming to comment--OMG! That kid has such a natural stroke and is so relaxed with the guitar! You may have a phenom on your hands!

I mean really, the facial expression and the change in intensity, and the brilliant smile at the end.

Eerrmmm, and he is how old? 6?!!! Does brilliance and talent just run in your family or what?

I, Rodius said...

Uh, yeah. Six, and the relaxed "I've been doing this for the past 15 years" posture with that guitar. Are you sure he's six?

Love you guys! Thanks for all the props for my kid. I try hard to not be too much of an overbearing mama, but sometimes, I can't help myself.
